Blake, Donald
Real Name: Dr. Donald Blake Affiliation: Human High Council Eyes: Blue Hair: Blonde Status: Deceased (Suicide) Dr. Donald Blake is a healer with a sublime gift for soothing wounds and easing pain and an ally of the Human High Council. Blade first discovered the dying Gwen Stacy alone in a lonely jungle and nursed her through a deadly fever just in time for her to rescue him from a mutant abush. Both were unable to return to their quarantined homes in the former United States, so they found salvation in eachother at the dawn of the new age, ever traveling and offering their services where they were needed most, unrecognized by the world at large. The couple was in Wakanda, rationing off supplies to the locals when an unexpected visit from Anthony Stark, an old friend of Blake's, prompted a trip to London. They had been selected as one of the few representatives of the Human High Council chosen to board Mikhail Rasputin's mothership where he and the rest of the assembly was kidnapped. After Stark's mechanized heart short circuited the ship at the cost of a cardiac arrest. The prisoners revolted, Blake resurrected Stark, and then escaped with Victor Von Doom to warn the Human High Council of Mikhail's treason. In the battle that ensued inside of Big Ben, Blake tackled Mikhail and threw the two of them from the tower. Both of them fell to their death. In our reality, and quite possibly the Age of Apocalypse as well, Donald Blake is the Norse God Thor, stripped of his godly identity and sent to Earth in human form. For many years, Thor lived out his life as the good-natured doctor, opening a successful practice and building a reputation for himself as a skilled surgeon. When the time came for Odin to return his son's identity to him and for Thor to reclaim his place among the gods, Odin compelled Blake to vacation in Norway where his wandering took him near the cave where he was born eons earlier. Blake discovered a gnarled walking stick, which when struck on the ground, bathed him in a bright light which transformed him into his true form and transformed itself into his hammer, Mjolnir. Thor set out on a career as a super-powered hero with the Avengers. Though his father bade him to return to Asgard, Thor had grown fond of the humans on Earth and vowed to serve as Earth's protector for as long as he lived. |
