The songs began at dusk. That was when the holy men that made up the Madri would join together in their timeless chant. There were hints of ancient Egypt in their song with the barest suggestion of Medievel Europe. It was a song of worship to one who was almost as old as time: Apocalypse. When Bishop was brought to the Temple of the Madri and rejected the psionic probes of the Shadow King, he proved to be too great a threat to the rule of the high lord.

Because of his his knowledge of another world where Apocalypse does not hold sway over the planet, it was decided that Bishop must not be allowed to poisin and contaminate the minds of the Empire. That world could not come to pass and thus the gene-traitor Bishop was required to die. Luckily for him, the Amazing X-Men would put together an attempt to rescue him.
