Switchback has the mutant ability to shift her chronal position up and down the temporal zone a maximum of ten seconds, allowing her to increase her relative speed, travel to where she's been, and erase her injuries. She left her native Detroit to find haven in the Antarctic. The day she came to Avalon, Destiny read her future... everyone on Avalon was going to die.

The imminent doom to which Destiny was referring to was the Shadow King, a second wave attack sent by Apocalypse to follow after the Pale Riders. With the arrival of Nightcrawler and the defection of Damask from the Pale Riders, the three were able to defeat the Shadow King. Switchback was last seen on Avalon and her current whereabouts are unknown. During the X-Men's last stand against Apocalypse's, Mystique used the confusion of the battle to disappear. Since then, Damask and Switchback have been helping him search the world for Mystique and recently reunited with Nightcrawler to report their findings before Kurt was called back the X-Men.
