Visitors of the Angel's nightclub regularly basked in the musical stylings of Heaven's incendiary torch singer, the lovely Scarlett McKenzie. Scarlett lead a hidden life, acting as an agent for the Human High Council while concurrently leading a conceiled affair with Apocalypse's head of security, the younger Summers brother, Havoc, whom she had fallen in love with. After one of Heaven's bartenders, Karma, was brought before the Shadow King for questioning, Scarlett was named as one of a number of spies positioned in New York for the Council.

She was taken in by the Bedlam Brothers, Terrence and Jesse Aaronson. When brought before Havoc for questioning, Scarlett revealed that she was pregnant with his child, a taboo under Apocalypse's laws of miscegenation and interspecies breeding. It was here, inside of the Breeding Pens, that Scarlett was last seen. It is possible that she died by Havoc's hand in order to cover his tracks as he had threatened to kill her earlier.
