Real Names: Claudette and Nicole St. Croix Aliases: The Monets, Monet One and Monet Two Affiliation: Elite Mutant Force Eyes: Brown Hair: Black Relations: Emplate (Brother), Know-It-All (Sister) Status: Unknown Monet is what the St. Croix twins were collectively referred to Claudette and Nicole St. Croix. The twins are mutants with the superhuman ability to fuse into a single being and they share various superhuman powers including superhuman strength, the ability to fly, telepathic powers, superhumanly acute night vision, and extraordinary intelligence. The Monets were members of Sinister's Elite Mutant Force known collectively known as the Monets. They were dispatched by Sinister along with their brother and the twins Aurora and Northstar to search for Christopher Summers, a renegade captive of the Breeding Pens that had escaped. They discovered the corpse of Joe Robertson while tracking down Summers and found him to not be far from the body. Summers killed Emplate when he was discovered and the death of their brother traumatized the twins, sending them into an autistic state. In our reality, Claudette and Nicole are two of three daughters of Cartier St. Croix, the wealthy former president of several corporations. When their eldest sister Monet was missing, the twins fused to take their sister's place. It was this Monet that was captured by the alien techno-organic race known as the Phalanx. Following the defeat of the Phalanx, Professor Charles Xavier decided to see to it that Monet and her fellow teenage mutant captives were instructed in the uses of their powers and the students thus became the team known as Generation X. Unlike their Age of Apocalypse counterparts, the twins have only exhibited the powers mentioned above while combined together and impersonating their older sister Monet. Our alternite editions seem to be able to share those powers without fusion. |
