Hepzibah is a Mephistoid, a feline humanoid with catlike grace and acrobatic skills. She is a member of the starfaring group known as the Starjammers and serves as their gunner. When Jonath, Gambit, and his band of thieves were cornered by the Imperial Guard on the planet the planet Ch'reesharaa, Deathbird had her Starjammers transport the X-Ternals aboard their ship.

From there, they ferried the X-Ternals to the planet Shi'ar where the M'kraan Crystal was being held. The Starjammers teleported Deathbird and the X-Ternals to the planets surface where Gambit would retrive a shard of the M'kraan and he and his X-Ternals would return to Earth care of Lila Cheney's mutant powers. It is unknown what happened to the Starjammers, but it is probable that they stayed within planet Shi'ar's orbit awaiting word from their leader Deathbird. Unfortunately, she had been crystalized by the M'kraan and so may have her crew.
