Artemis is a mutant with the ability of natural camoflauge.

Artemis was one of a handful of mutants attempting to escape from Sinister's Breeding Pens. They were eventually stopped by the Elite Mutant Force patrolling Manhattan Island. Though she was able to get a jump on the leader of the Elite, the prelate known as Cyclops, she was too weak to put up much of a fight. When Cyclops showed her a bit of compassion, she tried to use it to her advantage and revealed her trump card, a blade literally hidden up her sleave. Unfortunately, the Morlock was knocked out by Cyclops' brother Havoc before she had a chance to attack. She was caught and delivered to the Beast who added her to a vat of genetic material to produce more Infinites.
